Soapsud Stories
University Project in collaboration with Aimee Bish
We were briefed by Save the Children to work on their Wonder Words campaign by designing a “nudge” approach to encourage busy parents on low income to sing, play and talk more with their under 3’s. Our answer was Soapsud Stories; a brand of collectible characters, props and words that come together to aid storytelling at bath time.
Soapsud Stories is designed as a convenient and fun way to encourage communication and early language development during busy days. Consisting of a series of themed characters, words and objects, the pieces have jigsaw connections that join together to help create a linear storyline and aid storytelling. The pieces are made from foam, which allows them to float and stick to the bath and walls. Each pack is themed with a various job role, the more packs collected, the more elaborate and interesting the stories can get. These packs would be free when X amount of baby products are purchased, for example ASDA’s ‘Little Angels’, targeting low income families.
